Architects Peddle Thorp & James Cubitt Architects commissioned the furniture supply and fit out of the QUT Kelvin Gove library to us with tremendous results.  We supplied more than 50 fully upholstered study booths, upholtstered chairs and desk compartments across 5 levels. In all, the seating capacity was increased by over 200.  We created custom ottomans and lounges in bright pinks and orange to create a flexible workspaces that allow for both individual self-directed study or small group collaboration.

Our recent work at premier boys school Churchie in East Brisbane involved a collaboration with Brand and Slater architects.  The refurbishment of the Centenary library showcases our quality furniture, with Brand and Slater selecting Eurofurn to produce furniture to withstand high traffic, and provide lightweight flexibility. The project included stools, chairs, upholstered ottomans, tables and joinery.

Further higher education projects include University of Queensland and Griffith University.

Boutique Hotel trend drives quality furniture demand

The niche hotel market has boomed over the past 10 years and shows no sign of slowing.  Just as travelers are looking for a unique and quality experience, hotel furniture for these spaces demands high quality and design over mass produced and cheap imports.

Sage Hotel in Fortitude Valley is one such example of the new way to stay and play.  Eurofurn was engaged to supply custom restaurant and bar furniture, banquettes, joinery such as wardrobes and bedside tables, reception desks and back of house.

Despite the comprehensive nature of the job, it was boutique in design and customisation to meet the brief of a contemporary but intimate interior vibe.   The hotel lobby features polished exposed aggregate concrete floors, split aged and recycled sand stock brick and a stunning light design, The Knot by designer Karim Rashid, all combining to create a contemporary, semi-industrial look reflecting the repurposed warehouse design.

Trending: Curves

We love unusual projects such as this oversized curved booth featured at the Ivy Penthouse in Sydney.  This elegant take on lounge room furniture has created a very social space, and provided more seating than traditional sofas could achieve.

The Mondrian Hotel in London has recently been finished with this art deco vibe.  This unique oversized banquette with an unusual marshmallow colour has caught our eye.

Specialty booths and banquettes

There has been an explosion in high-end bars, and restaurants in recent times.  Each wanting to create their own unique space that combines style and functionality – spaces to socialise in and create pockets of intimacy amongst crowds.  Increasingly, booths, banquettes and other ‘social seating’ are featured in these interiors for their ability to create this atmosphere.

To meet this demand, we have become the booth and banquette specialist manufacturer in Australia.  And not only in hospitality.  As office spaces move away from traditional segregated designs to more collaborative hubs, the functionality of comfortable spaces for co-workers to gather has seen our projects in this market increase.

Recently we completed a banquette for event cinemas at Pacific Fair at the Gold Coast that was approximately 52 metres in length.  This type of unusual request was executed by our expert team from design and manufacture to install.

Rorkes Hotel in Darwin approached us with a concept for curved booths with an Art Deco feel to compliment their overall interior refurbishment.  These required beer taps to be installed at the booths themselves.  Eurofurn created all joinery and seating with stunning results. Our social seating also extends to outdoor spaces with the beer garden seating at the Regatta Hotel created by Eurofurn.
